Day 3: P90X/Insanity Hybrid Challenge - Shoulders/Arms and ARX

So, today was day 3 of the p90x/insanity hybrid.  The schedule called from shoulders/arms and ab ripper x.  I knew I was going to be in for it because I had to host the 6am 8 in 8 challenge.  And of course there was a twist to that workout.  I started the day with 30 mins of running intervals.  Then we did Insanity's Insane Abs for the 8 in 8.  The end my workouts, I completed Shoulders/Arms and Ab Ripper X.  Unfortunately, I wasn't able to complete the bonus round because I found out school was closed with no power.  I didn't know if it was true because I hadn't heard anything on the news, the school website nor school line was updated and we hadn't received a call.  Finally, I saw when of the bus drivers and she confirmed that it was, and then after all that we received a call from the school saying it was closed.  Next week, I'll complete the bonus round.  I'm feeling really good after today's workouts.  I'll continue to stretch to make it through the day.

See you guys tomorrow!

Day 1: P90x/Insanity Hybrid - Chest/Back and ARX

Well since I didn't complete my Day 1 - chest/back and ab ripper x yesterday, I got up this morning and did it.  It's been awhile since I've done this dvd, so I know I'm going to be sore tomorrow.  I guess my scores are alright but I know I did what Tony says not to do - stop to early.  For most of the exercises, I stopped way before the time was over.  I just wanted to give myself a base today to see where I'm at by not over doing it.  I have listed the move and then how many reps I completed in each round.

Standard push ups - 25 / 22
Wide pull ups - 4 / 4
Military push up - 15 / 17
Chin ups - 5 / 5
Wide push ups - 20 / 22
Overhand pull ups - 3 / 2
Decline push ups - 20 / 15
Heavy pants - (20lbs) 10 / 10
Diamond push ups - 15 / 12
Lawn mowers - (20lbs) L - 12 / 12; R - 12 / 12
Dive bombers - 10 / 12
Back flys - (10lbs) - 12 / 12

I Fell Off the Wagon......

Boy, am I glad that it's Monday.  This was a hard weekend for me....I completely fell off the wagon.  UGH!  I ate fast food, candy and didn't workout!!!  AHHHH!  It started Friday started night.  I was craving something and went through the McDonalds drive thru!  I haven't had fast food in I don't know how long.  Not a good look.  Of course I felt awful afterwards.  Saturday morning, I was supposed to do my AM workout.  Well, I rushed off and did something else.  Needless to say, I was gone the whole day after that, so no Saturday workout.  And guess what I did again?  FAST FOOD!  YUCK!  I got up yesterday and went to church and had a pretty decent lunch but then snacked the rest of the day - no real meals after that.  I'm sitting here SMH as I think about it.  I'm sharing with you though, to let you know I'm human too!  I make mistakes.  But guess what, I'm dusting myself off and getting back on the wagon. Thank goodness for new days and beginnings.  I just completed 20 mins of interval training.  Then I will do ARX and Chest/Shoulder/Tris this evening.

Happy Monday!

Days 2 & 3 of P90x/TF Hybrid

I forgot to blog yesterday's workout, so I'm combining it with today's workout.  Day 2 consisted of Ab Ripper X and Fire 30.  I love ARX - great core workout in just 15 minutes!  Instead of doing Fire 30, I decided to step it up and do HIIT 30.  It was the first time I'd done that workout.  I LOVED it.  My max HR reached 180 bpm (96%). The HIIT's were ahhh-mazing!  Hahaha.....Day 3 - today was just shoulder and arms.  I decided to lift heavy today and I feel it.  Which is a a great feeling.  Again, since I'm so use to doing cardio, I wanted to add something to today's workout.  I included the lower ab challenge parts 1 & 2 and took my son and his friends roller skating for their last school skate night.  Boy, I can feel it in my hips.  I'll make sure that I do plenty of stretching tonight so I'm not super sore tomorrow!  Great workout and another day tomorrow.  See you then!
