Have not started Insanity yet.....

Well, today would have been week 2 of Insanity if I had started it last week.  Unfortunately, I had to put it off after dealing with a lot of family illness, in and out of the hospital.  I also had to make an unexpected trip back home to see some family members that are not doing so well.  Insanity is still in the picture but my family is first right noq.  Workouts are still getting done but not at the intensity that I would like.  I'm not a total slacker! :)  What are you currently doing with your workouts?

Run in the park......

My son had a friend over today and they wanted to go out and play at the park. During my lunch break we walked over to our neighboring park. So, instead of wasting my time and watching them, I made the most of it.  I decided to go for a run while they played.  I'm not sure how far I ran but I ran for 30 mins.  It was a great run even though the sun was beating down on me. Normally, I go running first thing in the morning, beating the sun, plus it's much cooler. By the time I was done, my shirt was drenched.  I had a nice cool down walking back home.  The kids got some exercise and so did I!  :)

Day 1 Results and Recap

Well, I'm happy to say that I made it through Day 1 of my shakeology cleanse.  Below you'll see what I see, what exercise I completed and the results from weight or inches lost.

MEALS:
I had 3 shakes - breakfast, lunch and PM snack.
I ate a banana for my AM snack.
1 serving of baby carrots w/ PM snack.
For dinner, a grilled chicken breast with onions, greens, and a side salad w/ raspberry vingerette dressing.

EXERCISE:
30 pushups / 40 squats / 50 crunches
Total body workout w/ 10lb weight - set 1 - 25 reps / set 2 - 20 reps / set 3 - 15 reps

RESULTS:
Lost 4.1 lbs
Lost .5 inch from waist

I'm very excited about my Day 1 results considering my goal for the 3 days was to lose 5lbs.  In the late afternoon, I started getting a headache, so I ate a handful of carrots.  I was so glad when dinner time came around. :)  My body was ready for something more than just a shake.  Can't wait to see what the next 2 days holds.  I will see you tomorrow w/ Day 2 results.

Bike Ride in Miami

Well today was my last day on vacation in Miami.  Yesterday, I got up to go bike riding and I was moving slow, watching tv and when I headed outside, it was raining!  UGH!  I was so disappointed.  It rained most of the day and by the time it stopped, I wasn't in the mood to go riding.  This morning, I decided to get up bright and early so that I could get it in.  I loved every bit it!  The people that were on the beach exercising were so beautiful. There were so many people that were out there from diverse backgrounds.  As I was riding my bike, I was just smiling looking at all the people out early not making any excuses.  I'm so glad that I was able to get it in.  I love Miami and can't wait to come back!  :)

5.16.11 Workout - First Day of TF/P90X hybrid

Today is a new day!  I decided to switch things up a little bit after completing 10 weeks of Turbo Fire.  I love the program, don't get me wrong but I love lifting heavy weights.  So, with that being said, I had been comtemplating doing a TF/P90X hybrid.  I love the energy and cardio in TF and think that the P90X weight portion will be the lifting that I need.  So, today was Day 1 - Chest & Back.  All those pulls up and push ups, I loved it!  Exactly what I was looking for. I felt weird not having cardio on the schedule since I'm use to doing it every day, so I decided to add Cardio X.  Man, I felt GREAT afterwards.  Day 1 is in the bag and I'm looking forward to a mix of abs and cardio tomorrow.  I also completed parts 1 & 2 of the Fit Phatty lower ab challenge. My abs felt awesome and can't wait to see where they land me in the next few weeks.  :)  If you would like to learn more about Fit Phatty or our Phat Camps, comment here or inbox me at phitmom4life@yahoo.com.
